Beyoncé announced at the MTV VMA Awards on Sunday night that the 'Single Ladies' singer was pregnant with her and rap superstar Jay-Z's first child. The singer constantly cradled her belly during the awards, and announced from the stage before her performance of 'Love on Top': "I want you to stand up on your feet. I want you to feel the love that's growing inside me." After the song she unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her stomach.
Beyonce's representative confirmed the pregnancy to People magazine: "I'm happy to say it's true."
